Ministry Team

The Ministry Team serves as coordinating center for congregational decision making and church life. This team is led by the lay minister of administration and includes the lay ministers of the other four commissions and the lead pastor (ex-officio). The team provides spiritual oversight and vision to the congregation and works at balancing the work of the commissions in carrying out the mission and vision of the church. Specific duties of the ministry team would be to:

  1. Coordinate the ministries of community life, education, mission, and worship, to insure a well balanced church ministry
  2. Work as a team providing support and counsel to each other
  3. Provide leadership training opportunities for all lay leaders
  4. Provide guidance, counsel, and support to lay leaders and pastor (s)
  5. Appoint and provide direction for ad-hoc committees
  6. Conduct a periodic evaluation of the pastor with input from the PCRC
  7. Discern the spiritual and leadership gifts of members and regular attendees with input from forum groups; and provide leadership in preparing a slate of nominees for lay leadership positions in the church
  8. Work with the Administration Commission in preparing an annual Ministry Team budget
  9. Present a report of the team's activities at each regularly scheduled congregational meeting
  10. Make the following appointments:  Camp Menno Haven representative, Congregational Reporter, Church Historian, and Illinois Conference Delegates
  11. Work with forums and the congregation in exploring future plans in the areas of programs, church growth, and other areas of congregational life.
  12. Review the Plan of Organization every two years, making any changes necessary subject to approval by the congregation.
