Announcements

·         Today is the sixth in our series on the Beatitudes. Next Sunday, Todd will preach on "Blessed are the peacemakers…”

·         A big thank you to all who helped at the church workday yesterday. We successfully tore all the old shingles off Todd’s roof, but now we need to put new shingles on! Please join us tomorrow at 8 AM for a barn(roof) raising. Paul Yoder from Camp Menno Haven will oversee our work; lunch will be provided. Please contact Ned Richer for more information.

·         Robert Yutzy and Kirsten Zerger of KIPCOR will be with us again on November 15, for a full day of activities. Please plan now to participate. For the potluck that day, households A-M please bring a salad/dessert and N-Z a main dish.

·         We will need help with childcare during the November 15 afternoon session with KIPCOR. A marathon session for the adults means a very long day for our children as well. In order that adults may participate in as many of the afternoon activities as possible, we are asking for one-hour shift commitments. Please see the poster downstairs and sign up to help.

·         The Ten Thousand Villages Rug and Craft Sale at the Ewerts is fast approaching. We need help cleaning the Ewert home in preparation for the sale this Saturday from 9 to 3, and cleaning and unpacking next Saturday (Nov 14) from 9 AM on. During the sale, we’ll need help monitoring merchandize, bagging, flipping rugs, you name it. We also need people to bring food for the workers. Please contact Jane Halteman to sign up.

·         The Alhany children need tutoring help in history, biology and algebra. Can anyone donate a couple of hours per month? Please contact Arlee Blackburn, Ines Rosas Devia or Patti MacGregor for more information.

·         You are invited to offer your prayer on a piece of cloth in the lobby. Each week, these prayers will be added to our prayer web overhead in the sanctuary.

·         Volunteers Needed for CPT Workday: Christian Peacemaker Teams is in urgent need of workers to prepare their new office space for a late November move-in date. LMCers are invited to join a work day this Saturday (Nov 7) at CPT's new office at 2649 W. 21st Street in Chicago. Carpoolers will leave LMC at 9:00 AM. Questions and RSVP's should go to Dave Martin at 630-768-9305.
